In Loving Memory of Robert E. Zeitz

1927 - 2007

In December, our Security America family lost our longtime friend and colleague Bob Zeitz. Bob was a wonderful person, a delightful co-worker, and a respected security professional.

After retiring from Libby-Owens-Ford, Bob came to Security America in 1985. He quickly became noticed and recognized for his professionalism and his caring way he treated others. Bob was promoted a number of times from Account Supervisor at the Eye and Ear Clinic of Charleston to Road Captain to a staff Field Supervisor. In 1997, he took his "second retirement" in Florida.

Soon after his retirement, Security America honored Mr. Zeitz by re-naming our annual Employee-of-the-Year recognition to the "Robert E. Zeitz Employee-of-the-Year Award". Over the years, twelve security officers have lived-up to the high standards of professionalism, performance, and personal integrity that were reflective of Bob and earned the "Robert E. Zeitz Employee-of-the-Year Award". Bob was proud, yet humbled, to have the award named in his honor. We further honored Bob Zeitz by mounting a memorial picture-plaque in the front office. Pictured below to the right is Bob's son, Sgt. Mike Zeitz, placing the plaque.

Personally, I admired Bob for all the good he stood for and his dedication to his family. It was a privilege to know Bob Zeitz, and to share a small part of his life with him.
