Succeeding in Today’s Economy

The President’s Lead by Bill Signorelli, CPP

Over the past few months, I’ve been asked “What do the problems with the economy mean to Security America”. This is not a sure simple question to answer. I do believe that if we stick to the basics and do what is reasonable and prudent, that all of us will navigate the current rough waters.

As a company, the most important matter is to take care of our clients by providing “excellent customer service”. Security America must assist our customers in preventing loss of their property and products so that they can reach their highest profit levels possible. We must also provide our customers with the type of cost effective service that fulfills their mission. This is what they deserve.

Within our operations, SA is closely monitoring all on-going expenditures in all areas. This includes the areas of equipment, staffing, travel, materials, utilities, insurance premiums, and all “general and administrative” business costs. We continue to “tighten our belts” by weighing new purchases and making sure we have good “cost to benefit” relationships with our vendors. In sales, we insure that we are doing business with financially solid clients, and marketing in areas that we can service efficiently. In the security operations department, we strive for efficient and effective recruiting, and we evaluate the cost saving standards for each site security operation including overtime controls. Our administrative department also closely watches our cash flow and assures our financial and banking matters are in good shape. All of these steps and processes keep Security America financially and programmatically strong as a growing corporation.

In many ways, maintaining a healthy, stable company is no different than what each of us can do personally to assure the economic health of our families. Our best actions are to attend to the investments and situations that we can control. This obviously includes performing to our highest levels at our job. If you are delivering outstanding service to our clients, you are insuring your future, Security America’s future and our customers’ futures.

Our company’s “success environment” philosophy gives us direction. If we all consider each other as partners (our clients, our vendors, our employees, and our company), and involve everyone in a winning strategy, we will all weather the storm, and we will all succeed.
